Pivolar — the deterministic decision engine for Europe
An early-stage European technology platform seeking strategic pre-seed capital to connect real data across European markets.
Pre-seed · Europe
Pivolar turns personal priorities into arithmetic. One engine, seven modules, six languages and a transparent 0–100 score where every point is accounted for. Built and operated in Norway, designed for Europe from the first line of code.
The problem
The decisions that shape a person's finances — where to live, what to drive, where to move, what a loan really costs — are still made on portals that rank by advertising spend, recency or popularity. None of them rank by what the individual actually needs, and none of them can explain a recommendation. The result is time lost, comparisons that are not comparable, and choices made on incomplete information.
The solution
Pivolar asks the user what matters and how much it matters, then calculates. Criteria can be preferred, in which case they shape the score, or essential, in which case they remove candidates that fail them. Every result carries a 0–100 score and the list of criteria that produced it. The user owns the ranking logic, not the platform.
The deterministic matching engine
Profile → preferences → criteria → weights → data → normalisation → rules → scoring → ranking → explanation. The same input always produces the same output. The engine is module-agnostic: adding a new decision domain means adding a data schema and a criteria set, not a new product.
Why Pivolar is different
Reproducible
The same data, criteria and weights always yield the same ranking — auditable by design.
Explainable by construction
The explanation is not generated afterwards; it is the calculation itself, shown to the user.
One engine, many domains
Each new module reuses the same scoring core, so marginal build cost falls as coverage grows.
User-owned criteria
Ranking follows the user's weights. There is no paid placement inside a result list.
Seven modules, one engine
All seven are built and available in the product today. Each one is the same engine applied to a different structured domain.
Home
Homes and apartments matched to detailed personal criteria.
Local
Restaurants, music, sport, culture and events around you.
Car
Find, compare, buy or sell vehicles by your own criteria.
Move
Structured, algorithmic plans for relocation and life events.
Business
Business location fit and premises comparison
Travel
Destinations, stays, transport and activities that fit.
Money
Loan offers, savings goals and currency, calculated transparently.
The European opportunity
Europe is not one market but dozens of national ones, each with its own listing portals, registries, languages, currencies and rules. That fragmentation is exactly why a neutral, language-independent scoring layer has room to exist: no single national portal covers a citizen who compares across borders. Pivolar's schema is neutral, so each new permitted data source is an integration rather than a rebuild.
Multi-language and multi-currency architecture
Six interface languages — English, Norwegian, German, Polish, French and Spanish — with language-independent internal values, so switching language changes presentation only, never the ranking. Amounts are converted deterministically through published reference rates and always shown next to the original published amount and currency.
Real data, or an honest gap
Pivolar never invents listings, prices, businesses or availability. Data is labelled as reference data, data the user entered, values computed by the engine, or not connected. A market without a permitted source is stated as such rather than filled with plausible placeholders. This is a deliberate constraint: credibility is the product.
No AI, no machine learning
There is no model, no training data and no probabilistic output anywhere in the product — only structured data, explicit rules and weighted arithmetic. That removes an entire class of regulatory, explainability and hallucination risk, and it makes every result defensible to a user, a partner or a regulator.
Current product status
Pivolar is live as an early-stage product at pivolar.com. The following is built and in use today.
- The deterministic scoring engine with weights, essential rules and per-criterion explanations.
- Seven modules: Home, Local, Car, Move, Business, Travel and Money.
- Accounts, profiles, saved searches, six languages and multi-currency presentation.
- Subscription plans and payment handling through an established payment provider.
- Europe-wide search architecture, with connected listing coverage still being expanded market by market.
Business model
Recurring subscription revenue. Every module and every explanation stays available on the free plan; paid plans raise usage limits and unlock alerts, comparisons, advanced criteria and exports. Consumer subscription is the base; the same engine supports later professional and partner-facing use of the same infrastructure.
Free
Full engine access with usage limits. The acquisition surface.
Plus
€9.90 per month or €79 per year. Higher limits, alerts and saved searches.
Pro
€19.90 per month or €159 per year. Advanced criteria, comparisons and exports.
Target users
People making a consequential, comparison-heavy decision within a defined window: relocating across or within a European country, buying or renting a home, replacing a car, planning a move abroad, or choosing premises for a small business. They are already researching intensively across several portals — Pivolar replaces the spreadsheet, not the browsing.
Market view
We do not publish estimated market sizes we cannot substantiate. What is verifiable is structural: European households move, buy homes, replace cars and relocate across borders continuously, each of those decisions is already served by advertising-funded portals, and none of those portals rank by the individual's own weighted criteria. Pivolar is positioned as the neutral layer above them.
What investment will enable
Pre-seed capital is sought for a defined, sequenced expansion — not for speculative scale.
European data integrations
Licensed and permitted listing, registry and reference sources, market by market.
Engineering
Deepening the engine, data normalisation pipelines and per-market quality control.
Market expansion
Activating additional European markets with real connected data instead of coverage claims.
Partnerships
Agreements with data providers, portals, relocation and mobility services.
User acquisition
Measured acquisition in markets where connected data already makes the product complete.
